Chef’s Plate

I was approached by Chef’s Plate, which is a company that delivers meal kits that include fresh ingredients and a recipe card to your door. Every week they have different meal options available and the kits are shipped in cold boxes so they can stay fresh even on your door step. I was impressed with the packaging and the insulation because it kept the food cold while I was at work all day.

I was given two meals to create at home. Most of the recipes are meant to be made in less than an hour so they focus on quick, simple, and fresh food.

Shrimp and Summer Vegetable Pasta

  • Having everything already all portioned out in the package makes preparing the dishes really quick.
  • The flavour of this dish was on the bland side and I prefer saucier noodles.

Beef Bibimbap

  • I think it is cool that Chef’s Plate offers dishes from various cultures because I love Asian food and variety when it comes to cooking.
  • This was my favourite out of the two options because it had a bit of spice and a tangy flavour from the kimchi.

Disclosure: I did not pay for my meal.

Final Thoughts?

Chef’s Plate is a cool idea and the recipes were straight-forward and simple. I think this concept is a good idea for people who do not cook a lot and are looking for a fun activity to do at home. If you are a more advanced cook I don’t think you would get value out of the recipe cards as they are very simple and you probably already have the skills to make these dishes on your own.
