Sun Sui Wah

Where did I eat?

Sun Sui Wah at 4920 #3 Road in Richmond.

What do they specialize in?

Dim Sum.

What was the vibe?

Spacious, elegant, bright.

What did I order

Steamed Custard Buns

  • I have never had a chance to try steamed custard buns and was excited when I got to sample them here. I love eggy desserts so I really liked the slightly sweet and salty rich filling.

Fish Paste Rice Roll

  • Fish paste rice rolls are my favourite version of rice rolls to get and I really enjoyed these

Deep Fried Radish Cake With XO Sauce

  • This was my favourite dish of the day. I loved how crisp the radish cake was and the spicy chilis on top made it very flavourful.

Steamed Shrimp Dumpling

  • All of the typical dim sum dishes like shrimp dumplings, sui mai, egg tarts, and pork buns were also very good here

Disclosure: I did not pay for my meal.

Final Thoughts?

I find most dim sum places very similar but Sun Sui Wah was noticeably very good and one of my favourite places I’ve been to. All of the classic dishes were well executed and they have several more unique and different offerings.
