McDonald’s – Build Your Own Burgers

Where did I eat?

McDonald’s on 200th Street in Langley.

What do they specialize in?

McDonald’s is expanding its burger line to offer customizable more upscale burgers and table service at certain locations around the Lower Mainland (with more rolling out in the next few months).

What was the vibe?

An updated and modern McDonald’s interior with touch screen menu ordering board and table service.

What did I order?

Double Cheese Burger

  • The new burgers have thicker patties and tons of customizable ingredients including different buns (sesame, ciabatta etc) and cheeses (cheddar, blue, swiss), special sauces (sriracha, guacamole), and crispy onions etc.
  • This new more gourmet experience is available for dine in only because the food is made fresh to order. Your meal can be ordered and paid for on their new touch screen menu boards and a server will bring it out to you when its ready.
  • As far as taste goes the burger was surprisingly good and something that would be comparable to Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Fat Burger, and the more expensive burger places.
  • The meat patties were much thicker and juicier than something you would find on a Big Mac. The bun was fresh and the bacon was actually crispy (something I never come across normally at McDonald’s).

Disclosure: I did not pay for my meal.

Final Thoughts?

If you have a guilty pleasure for McDonald’s like me this new experience is definitely worth trying out for fun. If you want a more substantial burger than a Big Mac the new line is filling, tasty, and worth trying.
