Tin Shed Garden Cafe

Where did I eat?

Tin Shed Garden Cafe at 1438 Alberta Street in Portland.

What do they specialize in?

Brunch with comfort food and Southern inspiration.

What was the vibe?

Rustic, casual, busy.

What did I order?

Biscuits and Gravy

Biscuits and Gravy with Cheesy Grits

  • The cheesy grits had a rich cheddar flavour and were hearty and delicious.
  • The biscuits were flakey, buttery, fluffy, and quite filling
  • The bacon gravy was amazing and I liked it even better than sausage gravy. The bacon added a subtle smokiness to the bacon and it was thick and indulgent.

Everything Naughty

Everything Naughty Sampler – potato cakes with sour cream and green onion, scrambled eggs, buttermilk biscuits with bacon gravy, and pork sausage.

  • This is the perfect sampler for someone who wants a little bit of everything for breakfast. It was a good size and big enough to fill you up but not excessively large.
  • The potato cakes were really good and I loved how crispy they were on the outside. The sour cream on top made them extra delicious and it was a nice change from regular hash browns.

Final Thoughts?

Even though Tin Shed Cafe had a long wait for brunch, it is worth checking out for their great brunch dishes and relaxing atmosphere.
