Where did I eat?

Nagano at 254 Newport Drive in Port Moody.

What do they specialize in?

Japanese food and sushi.

What was the vibe?

Quiet, casual, simple.

What did I order?

Sushi and Sashimi Bento

Sushi and Sashimi Bento Box – assorted sashimi, assorted tempura, green salad, miso soup, rice, and daily special item

  • The rice was obviously old and reused because it was dry and crusty. I’ve never had rice that has tasted bad at a Japanese restaurant before.
  • The sashimi wasn’t the best. Some pieces were fine but a few were a little “fishy” tasting. The pieces were also quite small.
  • The tempura was okay and pretty standard.

Final Thoughts?

I wasn’t impressed with the bento box here and I find that Fuji Sushi down the road in Port Moody has better value and taste for bento boxes.
