Vancouver’s best gelato shop, Bella Gelateria has expanded from its original location in Coal Harbour and opened up a second shop in Yaletown. It is located at 1089 Marinaside Cresent over looking false creek. The inside of the shop was bright and beautiful and the location is perfect if you are taking a walk on the seawall.
One of the new menu items at this location are “gelatinis”, which are martinis with a scoop of gelato in them. It is a cool concept and they have several different types all using different types of gelato. I tried the Pimm’s Cup and it was the perfect refreshing cocktail with a hint of tart lemon sorbetto inside.
This location will also serve Neopolitan style pizza in several different flavour combinations. I was worried the pizza may be overlooked in favour of specializing in gelato, but they were all delicious and well executed. The crust was perfectly thin and slightly charred.
Like the other location, they have a full gelato bar with plenty of flavours to choose from. I fell in love with the toasted pecan with maldeon sea salt and maple syrup. It was the perfect balance of nutty, sweet, and salty flavours and I would highly recommend giving it a try.
If you find yourself in Yaletown you should definitely check out the new Bella Gelateria. In fact even if you don’t find yourself in Yaletown it is probably worth a special trip to sample their gelato and pizza.
