MacFalafel

MacFalafel is a small donair restaurant located in Kitsilano on West 4th. They serve all of the typical wraps and rice platters that you would find at most donair places.

I’m always down for a good donair and even though my favourite donair place, Doner Kebab, is located a block up the street from MacFalafel, I decided to give them a try to see how they compare.

Chicken and Falafel Wrap

I ordered my go-to item that I try at every donair place: the chicken and falafel wrap.

The chicken was pretty good. It was moist and had a fragrant spice flavour to it. Unfortunately the falafel were not good because they were the typical reheated soggy variety. Why even bother serving falafel like that?

The wrap was also put together in a very sloppy fashion. I know donairs are a messy eat-with-your-hands type of food, but there was sauce everywhere and even the veggies inside were too chunky and unevenly cut.

I wasn’t impressed with the food at Mac Falafel and I wouldn’t bother returning. The one thing I will say though is that their food is incredibly cheap. You get what you pay for, but if you are broke and looking to fill up your stomach for around $5, they can do that for you.

Recommendation:

No, go to Doner Kebab down the street for a much better donair.
