Las Margaritas

Las Margaritas is a Mexican restaurant located in Kitsilano on West 4th. They serve food like tacos, burritos, and enchiladas.

I came here for lunch recently because I like that they have a cute cantina ambiance inside of the restaurant that feels festive.

Al Pastor Tacos

I had the al pastor tacos ($12.95) that came with three pork filled tacos, refried black beans, and a green salsa. The black beans were actually really good and they ended up being my favourite part of the meal. They were thick and almost creamy tasting.

Al Pastor Tacos

As far as the tacos went, they looked pretty, but tasted just okay. The pork was tough and I felt like it could have been more tender and flavourful. I just kept scooping all of the green salsa onto the tacos to give them more of a kick. The tortillas also needed to be warmed up more and seemed rather bland and unpliable .

I felt pretty lukewarm about my experience at Las Margaritas. The food wasn’t horrible, but I think it is overpriced for the quality you receive. If I’m going to pay a lot of money for tacos, I would rather go elsewhere.

Recommendation:

No, the food is overpriced and mediocre.
