Connie’s Kitchen is an all day omelette bar located in the Royal Centre Food Court on Burrard. All of their omelettes are made to order and they have a variety of fillings to choose from. I love a good all day breakfast place and downtown Vancouver is seriously lacking in this department, so I was excited to try Connie’s Kitchen.
I had the Connie’s combo, which comes with an omelette, bacon taters, and a drink ($8.58). You can pick as many different fillings as you want.
The omelette was well made. The fillings were great and they were well incorporated into the eggs. The eggs were perfectly light and fluffy. It really satisfied my breakfast craving. I also had some fresh house made salsa on the side and it was a great addition to the eggs. I would highly recommend getting some.
The bacon taters were also really good. They had a good crispness to them and a mild smokey bacon flavour. They were topped with asiago and green onions, which made them better than your average hash browns.
I also had a breakfast pom ($0.98), which is a house made onion and cheese pastry. I really enjoyed this and I quickly demolished it. The inside is hollow and it had a light, savoury, eggy flavour. There are little bits of cheese and onions throughout the pastry. For an extra dollar, this is worth adding.
I was impressed with Connie’s Kitchen and it is a place I would frequent if I worked in the area. It is a great addition to downtown and the perfect quick, and affordable breakfast/lunch option. The combo is yummy and filling and for $9 after tax, you can’t go wrong.
Yes, for a great all day omelette.
