Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co.

Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. is a restaurant in Kitsilano that makes flatbread pizzas. They use high quality, local, ingredients to make all of their products. The location is nice and has a rustic, comfortable feel with a bright airy patio.

I was invited by Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. to come and try one of their special pizzas made for the fireworks. On each night of the fireworks, they are making a themed pizza to go with the presenting country. I went with my Mom on the night Canada was presenting, so I knew bacon had to be involved somehow!

Blueberry Sangria

The red sangria made with local blueberries was very good. It was fruity and refreshing and the perfect Summer drink. I would highly recommend this.

Granville Island Robson Street Hefeweizen

The Granville Island Robson Street Hefeweizen was also a good Summery drink. This beer was light, but had a tart after taste with hints of fruity flavours.


The bruschetta was made with local diced tomatoes marinated in balsamic vinegar, EVOO, and fresh basil, topped with some shreds of parmesan cheese. I don’t normally go crazy for bruschetta, but I really enjoyed this dish. The tomatoes were very ripe and they didn’t have any bitter taste to them. Everything about this dish just tasted fresh. The bread that was served with it was also good.

Roasted Tomato and Zucchini Soup

The roasted tomato and zucchini squash soup was one of their daily soup specials. This soup was good, but not great. I felt like the flavours could have been punched up a bit.

Basil Blackberry Salad

The basil blackberry salad was made with assorted greens, crimini mushrooms, mango, roasted red pepper all tossed in a basil and blackberry dressing.

I liked this salad and it was a good salad to start a meal with. It was light and fresh. The basil blackberry dressing was delicious. It was a bit sweet and had a nice herbaceous flavour.

Calgary Special Flatbread

I had the special flatbread, which they made to go along with the Calgary themed fireworks of the evening. It was made with bbq tomato sauce, mozza and cheddar cheese, double smoked maple bacon, ground bison, roasted red peppers, fresh spinach, red onions, and fresh herbs.

I was impressed with their flatbread. I only like thin crust pizza, and this was paper-thin. It was also nice and crispy and not remotely soggy in the middle.

I’m picky about the bbq sauce I like, but I liked this version. It was slightly sweet and smokey, but still very tomatoey. I also really liked the ground bison. It was moist and much more flavourful than ground beef. The spinach, red onion, and fresh herbs helped to balance out the heavy meat and sauce. Overall, this was a satisfying pizza.

Mango Lemon Cheesecake

The mango lemon cheesecake was a great way to end the meal. The cheesecake was creamy and had a mild, sweet, mango flavour. They used a gluten-free crust made with coconut for the bottom and it was also excellent. It went well with the tropical flavour of the mango.

I enjoyed my meal from Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. Everything was fresh and tasty and I would come back for more flatbreads.
