The Wave is a modern American restaurant located in Disney’s Contemporary Hotel. The food is relatively healthy compared to may of the other restaurants in the area and the Wave uses many local products and ingredients.
Since my family is staying at this hotel we decided to check out the restaurants here. The inside of the restaurant is nice and modern and not too formal.
For dinner I ordered the black grouper sautéed fish ($24). The restaurant uses sustainable fish and the selections change daily.
The black grouper was cooked to perfection. It was delicate and incredibly moist and easy to pull apart with my fork. The fish was topped with a flavourful cilantro chutney.
The fish was served on a bed of edamame stew with corn, green beans, and tomatoes. This stew was fantastic. I’m not exactly sure what the broth was made with, but it had a light, delicate, buttery flavour. I enjoyed the medley of vegetables, especially the sweet corn.
The Wave impressed me with the flavour and preparation of the dishes. This fish has been my favourite food item I’ve eaten so far on my trip. The restaurant is reasonably priced for the quality of the food and it’s worth leaving the theme parks to check it out and get a good meal.
Yes, for a modern and well executed meal.
