Recipe to Riches: Salt-Kissed Dulce de Leche Brownies

On this week’s episode of Recipe to Riches, it was the battle of cookies and squares. The three recipe finalists were dulce de leche brownies, glazed lemon pecan cookies, and mahbooz date cookies.

I was excited to see that this week’s winner was Tracey Rigden’s salt-kissed dulce de leche brownies. The box of brownies comes as one large layer and you keep it frozen before serving. Just simply let it thaw out when you are ready to eat it.

This dessert had a brownie layer as the base, a middle layer of dulce de leche, and a top layer chocolate ganache topped with a sprinkle of fleur de sel. I fell in love with this brownie at first bite. The brownie layer on the bottom is moist and rich, and it provides a good base to hold up everything. The dulce de leche was smooth and creamy. It also added a gooey moisture to the brownie. The chocolate ganache on top was very rich and chocolately. I love salty and sweet combinations, so the sprinkle of salt on top made this brownie extra special.

These brownies were the best product I’ve eaten that has come out of Recipe to Riches. This is a product that I would actually repeatedly buy because they are delectable and something that is different from your average brownie you would buy or make at home. The recipe for these brownies is on the Food Network Canada website.

I know I tweeted… twittered… twitted? you the other day but I just wanted to add my thanks here. Thank you so much for the lovely review. It made my day to read it… just as it made me smile again today. PC did a great job staying true to my original recipe and I’m so glad people are liking them!

No problem! I loved them and I’ve heard nothing but good things from everyone I’ve talked to about them. You are guaranteed to win 😉
