Little Panda Kitchen

Little Panda Kitchen is a new food cart located on the south side of West Georgia between Burrard and Thurlow. They sell sushi rolls and Japanese crepes. I’ve been trying to check out all the new food carts this summer, so my friend Melissa and I came here on our lunch breaks to grab some sushi.

The special snow white roll ($6.25) looked beautiful, but unfortunately it got squished in the box as we walked to a place to sit down and eat. With all of their special rolls you can choose if you want crab or deep fried shrimp inside.

For this roll we chose crab and the pieces inside the roll were pretty large. The roll was smothered in a fan of ripe avocados, which made it very rich and delicious. It was also topped with a creamy mayo sauce and tobiko. This roll was fresh tasting and satisfying.

The other special roll we got was the mango roll ($6.25). This was filled with tempura shrimp and cucumber and it was topped with ripe golden mangos, creamy mayo, and tobiko.

This was my favourite roll of the day because I love anything with mangos. The roll was sweet, refreshing, and full of flavour. I enjoyed the crunch of the shrimp in the roll and I preferred it slightly over the crab.

We also got a dynamite roll and yam roll ($6.25 for two). These rolls were large and filling, however, they were pretty standard and something you could find at any Japanese restaurant.

While the regular rolls were just okay, we both loved the special rolls and I would come back for them again. They are a pretty good price considering special rolls can cost more in a restaurant. The portion sizes were good and there was a lot packed inside of these rolls. Little Panda Kitchen is a good alternative to getting take out sushi.

Tip:

Cash only.

Recommendation:

Yes, for their delicious special rolls.
