After hitting up the Richmond night market, Foodpunk, Foodology, and myself went to Bubble Queen for bubble tea. The inside of Bubble Queen is very small and they only have a few tables. People were lined up the door on Saturday night to get drinks and we had to fight for a table. In addition to plenty of drinks, they also sell bubble waffles in a few different flavours.
Bubble Queen is known for their special chocolate bubble tea drinks, but since I’m lactose intolerant, I had to avoid those and I went with a passionfruit green tea with pearls ($3.50). This drink was sweet and delicious. The passionfruit flavour was bold and fruity and quite refreshing to drink after consuming lots of deep fried food at the night market. The pearls were bouncy and chewy with none of them being too hard.
Bubble Queen makes good bubble tea and they have some of the most unique drinks I’ve seen from a bubble tea cafe. The prices are affordable and I would come back if I was in the area.
Yes, for great bubble tea in Richmond.
