Food Service Improvements Are Coming to SFU Burnaby

If you are an SFU student, I’m sure you are no stranger to complaining about the limited food options at Burnaby campus. Sometimes when I have evening classes there is no where that I am able to go to get food, and even during the day the food options are quite limited and mediocre. I was happy to find out last week that big improvements to all food services at the Burnaby campus are in the works.

Some of the larger changes in process are plans for an international food floor in the Mackenzie Café, 24-hour food service in the residence dining hall, and a Starbucks outlet in the West Mall Complex. In addition to these changes, the university also wants to extend the hours of operation of all food locations (it’s about time) and offer healthier food that meets different dietary restrictions.

I’m excited to watch these new changes unfold over the coming months and I think it’s about time that the school’s culinary scene reflects the needs of students. You can read the complete article about these changes on the SFU website.
