Sushi Town

I recently made a trip to Sushi Town in Burnaby for a quick dinner before school. Sushi Town has four locations around Metro Vancouver in Burnaby, Coquitlam, North Vancouver, and Surrey. Sushi Town is known for their cheap food and large portions and as a result, they are popular with students in the area. The outside looks a little run down, but it’s not bad inside.

I’ve heard good things about their spicy sashimi, so I went with the spicy salmon sashimi don ($9.50). I was shocked at how much sashimi is actually in the bowl. The portion was so large I couldn’t completely finish it (and that’s saying something). I was impressed with the salmon for how cheap it was. It tasted very fresh and it was melt in your mouth tender. The spicy sauce had some heat to it and I loved the bold flavour of it. Along with the salmon, there were also chunks of cucumber and green onions topping the dish, which added a contrasting crunchy texture to the tender salmon. Beneath the massive pile of salmon was lots of rice, which made this dish even more filling.

I was impressed with the portion and taste of the food at Sushi Town especially considering that it’s so affordable. This is a great restaurant to fulfil your sushi and sashimi cravings without breaking the bank.

Recommendation:

Yes, for cheap and tasty sashimi.
