Honey Doughnuts and Goodies

Honey Doughnuts and Goodies is a little cafe located in Deep Cove that sells breakfast items and sandwiches at lunch time, but what really brings people here is the doughnuts. I have had their doughnuts before and loved them, but since Deep Dove is so far from where I live I only get to have them on a rare occasion. The other day to my excitement I came home to a giant bag of Honey’s doughnuts sitting in the kitchen because my family had brought some home from North Van.

Original Doughnut

They sell a couple of different flavours of doughnuts and the ones we got were original, chocolate covered, and maple covered. I chose the original because it’s my favourite and I find the other toppings to be too overwhelming. These doughnuts are different from most other doughnuts I’ve had because they are so thick and dense. They are like deep-fried cake that gets nice and crispy on the outside but remains soft and chewy on the inside. There is a light sweetness of honey flavour in the dough which makes it totally delicious.

You will probably have an overload of sweetness by the end of it but it’s worth every bite. These doughnuts are unlike any other doughnut I’ve had and are definitely worth a try. Go with the original. You won’t be disappointed.

Yes, for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Much as I love doughnuts of all kinds, I did not like these. I found them to be overly greasy and not to my taste. The poor customer service did not help the experience.

I was very disappointed as I had made a trip out to Deep Cove simply to try their doughnuts. I would rather pay more and pick up a few from Cartem Donuterie.
