Last Week Of Operation For Coma Food Truck

Recently, the City of Vancouver had judges award street food vendors licenses to operate their food trucks for this coming summer. Coma Food Truck, a Korean and Mexican fusion vendor that was on the streets for all of 2011, was not granted a permanent license to operate this year (just another mobile one) and the owners are fed up and shutting down the truck.

Coma Food Truck has a large loyal following and many people, myself included, are very sad and upset to hear this news. They were one of my personal favourites. This week is their last week of operation and their location schedule can be viewed on their Facebook page or twitter. On Wednesday they will be downtown so be sure to check them out for lunch if you are working. If you are a twitter follower and want to join in on the Wednesday tweetup, the hashtag for it is #finalcoma.

Coma Food Truck, we will all miss you and your delicious bulgogi burritos.

That’s so unfair. Why would the city grant a whole bunch of new licenses and yet not renew Coma’s? Their food is really good and they went out of their way to make their customers happy like offer free soup with a purchase on a cold winter’s day.

I will miss their bulgoki tacos and other offerings.

Apparently they were given another mobile license but they really wanted a permanent location for this year. It will be sad to see such nice people making good food leave Vancouver.
