Starbucks Petites

I went to Starbucks one evening but it was too late for me to have coffee since I had school early the next day. I still wanted to satisfy my sweet craving and I was hoping to find their double chocolate brownie but unfortunately they were sold out for the day. I was left staring at the dessert case looking for something else to try. I saw a bunch of the Starbucks petites in the case and they looked cute and quite good so I thought I would give them a try.

Salted Caramel Sweet Square and Red Velvet Whoopie Pie

I chose a red velvet whoopee pie and a salted caramel sweet square for $3. For $3 the price is a little steep but it’s Starbucks so that is to be expected. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how good both of these are and they both exceeded my initial low expectations. A few years ago I stopped buying Starbucks baked goods because they were always dry but they seem to have stepped up their game. The red velvet whoopee pie was soft and loaded with a cream cheese filling. The cream cheese flavour was prominent but not sickly sweet and was like a yummy soft little pillow. The salted caramel square was super delicious. It was layers of chocolate fudge with caramel and there were some crunchy bits in the middle that added a good texture. I would order both of these again.

I was impressed by these little desserts and they totally fulfilled my sweet craving. Now I want to go back and try all of their other petite desserts.

Recommendation:

Yes both of them are good for a small sweet pick me up.
