Next Noodle Bar

Next Noodle Bar is a Chinese style restaurant on Robson between Seymour and Richards. They obviously have a variety of noodle dishes but they also have dim sum and some other entrée dishes with rice. I was having a noodle craving and I knew I wanted some sort of noodle dish but the menu is quite large and a bit overwhelming.

Chicken Curry Ramen Soup

I ordered the house curry chicken ramen soup ($8.50). The curry soup was quite spicy and it tasted good but I would have preferred a slightly thicker broth with the curry flavour. The noodles were bouncy and cooked properly and there was a fair portion of them that was comparable to most other bowls of ramen I’ve had. The soup was topped with chicken, broccoli, and tofu puffs. The tofu puffs were pretty soggy by the time I got them so I didn’t care for them. The chicken and the broccoli were standard, not bad but nothing special.

The soup was good, it satisfied my noodle craving but it wasn’t spectacular. I would come back to try some other stuff on the menu because it was so large I don’t feel like I really experienced the restaurant. The service was quite fast so it’s a good place to go if you are on a lunch break.

Recommendation:

Yes for a quick lunch if you are in the area.
