Tacofino Blue

Tacofino is a local Vancouver food truck that serves up Baja style Mexican food. They have two different trucks downtown, the orange taco truck and the blue burrito truck. I’m a huge fan of their fish tacos from the orange truck so I was interested to check out the blue truck to try a burrito. The blue truck is located on Burrard and Dunsmuir from 11-3pm.

Fish Burrito

All of their burritos are $10 and they come with your choice of fish, chicken, steak or pork and they are filled with refried black beans, basmati rice, chipotle mayo, salsa fresca and shredded cabbage. I am obsessed with tacofino’s fish tacos so I wanted to try the fish burrito for comparison. I was very impressed with the burrito. Normally I find burritos a bit boring and bland but this one was delicious. I loved that they used black beans inside because it made it unique from other burritos I’ve had around town. I also like that they use cabbage and not lettuce because it gives it a crunchier texture and doesn’t get soggy like lettuce. The fish inside was fried perfectly and was light and crispy. Everything was moist and there was lots of flavor from the fresh salsa and chipotle mayo. The burrito is also massive and stuffed full of fillings so it will definitely fill you up for lunch.

Overall I loved the burrito. It was equally as good as the tacos from the orange truck just in a different way. The burritos can get a bit messy so make sure you grab some napkins. Tacofino has yet to  disappoint me!

Recommendation:

Yes for the best burritos in Vancouver
