Sunset Burgers

Sunset Burgers is a new restaurant that opened up a couple of months ago on Nelson and Seymour. Sunset Burgers is a 80’s southern California themed burger joint that is complete with crazy neon paintings on the wall and 80s music blasting inside. They pretty much only have burgers, fries and milkshakes here.

I ordered a cheeseburger combo ($10) with fries and a pop. They give you the option of adding on fried onions and mushrooms to your burger for free which I appreciated because I love fried mushrooms on my burger but I’m normally don’t want to pay extra to get them added on. All of the burgers come with “sunset sauce” which tastes kind of like a mild chipotle mayo. They apparently use Kobe beef to make their patties and the meat was juicy and had a nice flavor to it. I thought the burger tasted great, however, I felt it was pretty small for the price. The burger was also extremely messy and hard to eat by the end of it.

The fries came out hot and fresh and they had the right amount of crispiness. The portion of fries that you get is actually quite large and could easily be shared between two people.

Overall Sunset Burger had a fun atmosphere and a flavorful burger but it was expensive for the size (they recently increased the size of the burger).

Tip:

If you want a good deal go in on Monday for the $3 all day burger deal or Tuesday for free fries with the purchase of a burger.

Recommendation:

Yes, for a decent burger.
