Bubby’s Kitchen is a cute restaurant in Victoria that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a casual menu with sandwiches, pastas, salads, and classic breakfast options. This place has a local hang out type vibe and a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
I ordered the veggie scramble ($13), but added bacon to it. They didn’t charge me extra to add some bacon because I swapped it for red pepper and this made me really happy.
The scramble was filled with bacon, spinach, caramelized onions, mushrooms, scallions, and maple cheddar. It was also topped with a bunch of perfectly ripened avocado slices. I love avocados with eggs and I liked how generous they were with them.
Everything mixed together tasted great. There was an ideal ratio of fillings to eggs and the eggs were light and fluffy.
The sourdough toast was good and I’m pretty sure the jam was made in-house. I always have respect for restaurants that make all of their own stuff.
The only problem we had was that the restaurant ran out of hash browns. I was pretty sad, since I was craving some greasy breakfast potatoes, but they offered us fresh fruit instead.
Katherine had a build your own omelette made where you can choose three fillings. She seemed to enjoy it, but she was equally sad about the lack of hash browns.
Despite no hash browns, I enjoyed my meal from Bubby’s. It was simple, but a well made and comforting breakfast. If I lived in the area, I would visit again.
Yes, for a cute breakfast spot in Victoria.
