49th Parallel Coffee & Lucky’s Doughnuts

The old 49th Parallel Coffee has recently moved to a new location down the street in Kitsilano with a Lucky’s Doughnuts inside. I’m addicted to the Main Street location, so I wanted to come and check out the new store.

This location is bright and airy, but not as big as the Main Street location. I still like the other location more because it is more spacious, but this one was pretty cute inside. I’m not sure if it was just from the hype of recently opening, but most of the time I was sitting in here they were lined up out the door.

Soy Cappuccino

I had a small soy cappuccino. I love the pretty teal colour of the cups and the lovely latte art.

This was a well made cappuccino. The foam was perfect and the espresso had great flavour.

Salted Caramel Doughnut

I also had a salted caramel doughnut. Even though every doughnut I’ve had from Lucky’s is amazing, I think this is my favourite.

I love the sticky and sweet caramel topping that smothers the doughnut and every now and then you get a bit of salt. The cake doughnut is also excellent. In most cases I prefer yeast doughnuts, but this one could make me switch teams. It is moist, chewy, and delectable.

Every time I’ve been to a Lucky’s Doughnuts or 49th Parallel Coffee I’ve always had great food and service. I constantly rave about them. Everyone should come here and try it because who doesn’t love coffee and doughnuts?

Recommendation:

Yes, for the best doughnuts in town.
