Les Halles Boulangerie & Pâtisserie is a bakery located in the France pavilion of Epcot in Disney World. Les Halles has recently been redone and they now have more seating and new selections of food. They make all of their items in-house and they have viennoiserie, pastries, sandwiches, coffee, and wine.
They have good coffee here compared to some of the other stands around the park. I got an espresso and it had a bold, smooth, flavour.
The raspberry macaron was filled with fresh raspberries and a lime cream. The whole raspberries were a nice touch and they added a juicy texture to the macaron. The tartness of the lime cream contrasted well with the sweet raspberries.
The actual macaron shell was a bit mucky on the inside. I’m not sure if it was an actual sauce or if it was moisture that was absorbed from the berries and cream. While the texture wasn’t perfect, it still tasted great.
The Napoleon, which is made with layers of puff pastry and vanilla custard, is the best-selling pastry at Les Halles. The puff pastry was crisp, light, and airy. The vanilla custard was creamy and it had a delicate flavour. The Napoleon was good, but it wasn’t my favourite of the day.
The lemon tart is filled with a lemon cream and topped with meringue. If you like lemon desserts or desserts that aren’t overly sweet, this would be a good option for you. The meringue topping was light and pretty and the lemon custard was creamy and tart.
The raspberry mousse ended up being my favourite dessert of the day. The cup was layered with creamy raspberry mousse and a rich, moist, chocolate cake. Raspberry and chocolate is always a killer combo. The cup was topped with fresh raspberries and a thick sweet raspberry sauce. The sauce took this dessert to the next level because of its pure raspberry flavour.
All of the desserts we had were enjoyable and I would have no problem eating these all again. This is a great place to stop in the park to sit down and have a coffee and a snack or to grab some dessert after dinner. I didn’t get to try the sandwiches here, but they also looked good.
Yes, for great coffee and desserts.
