Since the holidays are over, Starbucks has come out with a new featured drink, the vanilla spice latte. I’m still mad at Starbucks for taking away the free soy benefit (see my rant here), but I caved in against my boycott and went there to try their new drink.
What makes the vanilla spice latte different from a regular latte is the addition of cardamom and a sprinkle of vanilla spice sugar on top. Cardamom is one of my favourite spices, so I thought it was a great addition to the latte. The cardamom flavour is strong and dominant, but you can still pick up hints of vanilla. The taste of this drink is comparable to chai, minus the cloves and star anise.
As much as I hate to admit it, I loved the vanilla spice latte. It was sweet, but not sickly sweet, like some of their special drinks. It was very warming and comforting and perfect for a cold winter day. You can also get this drink made as a frap.
Recommendation:
Yes, the vanilla spice latte is worth a try.

Have yet to try it, but it’s Jeremy’s new favorite.
You gotta try it too, it’s so good.
