The Woods Coffee is a chain of coffee shops that has many locations around Bellingham, Lynden, Ferndale, and Whatcom County. After spending the afternoon in Bellingham, I kept noticing these shops around and I wanted to try one out.
I visited one in Bellingham on Railroad Ave and Chestnut street. The Woods Coffee was large and spacious, but they still pulled off the cozy cafe vibe. They had lots of rustic wood detailing, but the cafe was still upscale and modern.
I ordered a pineapple green tea ($1.95) in chestnut size (the sizes of the cups are all named after trees). I was glad to see that the tea isn’t just boring prepackaged tea bags, but that they fill up bags with loose leaf tea when you order it. The pineapple green tea had a nice flavour. It was a bit sweet with earthy green tea undertones. This would also make a tasty iced tea.
I liked my drink and the ambiance of the Woods Coffee. If there was a location in Canada close to me I would be a regular. Next time you drive past the border give the Woods Coffee a try instead of Starbucks.
Recommendation:
Yes, for a cute cafe with good drinks.
