Last night I received an email with some exciting news; The Food Queen is a top 7 nominee for the Social Media Awards 2013! The category that I have been nominated for is Best Student Blog (I’m currently attending SFU for my BBA in Accounting).
The Social Media Awards are designed to recognize excellence in social media by post-secondary students and industry professionals in British Columbia. There are four award categories for students and six for industry professionals. The award categories for students are: Best Student Blog, Best Social Video Channel, Best Social Media in BC, and Must Follow of 2013.
The top 7 nominees from each category were compiled from over a hundred nominations that were submitted over the past few weeks. As of January 10, online voting will go live and everyone can vote for their favourite nominee. The top three nominees with the most votes in each category will make it to the Social Media Awards in March. At the awards, a panel of judges will select the winner.
I am so excited and honoured to be nominated for this award. The Food Queen has grown a lot over the past year and it has been a wonderful experience. I’m so thankful for everyone who has helped me along the way or reads my blog and dines out with me. And thank you very much to the Social Media Awards for the nomination!
