Lucky Fortune Cookery is an Asian rice bowl counter service restaurant in Disney’s California Adventure Park. There are slim pickings in Disneyland when it comes to any type of Asian food. Lucky Fortune Cookery is pretty much the only Asian influenced restaurant they have. They serve rice with your choice of meat (chicken, beef, or tofu) and then you select your sauce.
I ordered the chicken Thai coconut curry rice bowl ($10) that came in a cute Chinese style take out box.
The chicken was sautéed with onions, celery, broccoli, peppers, and fresh cilantro. There were lots of large pieces of moist chicken in the bowl. The sauce had a mild creamy curry flavour, but I wish they put a bit more in the bowl. There was lots of rice and it ended up being pretty filling.
The rice bowl was good, but not great. This was by no means the best Asian style food I’ve had, but after days of eating burgers and fries, this really hit the spot. If you want a filling lunch that isn’t deep fried, heavy, and greasy, this is a good option.
Yes, for a decent and non greasy meal inside the park.
