The Mint Julep Bar is a small take out window that is tucked around a corner of New Orleans Square in Disneyland. Fitting with the southern New Orleans theme, they sell non alcoholic versions of mint juleps and beignets.
The mint julep was better than I was expecting it to be. It had a strong mint flavour with hints of tart lime and a bit of sweetness. The drink was quite large and completely refreshing. It was also topped with a fresh lemon to squeeze and two cherries.
We ordered a six pack of Mickey shaped beignets to share. For those who don’t know, beignets are a French style of doughnut that are popular in New Orleans. I thought it was cute how they were shaped like Mickey Mouse and they tasted great too. They came out piping hot with tons of powdered sugar in the bottom of the bag. These aren’t overly big, and they aren’t as sweet as the average American doughnut (so you can eat a couple without feeling too sick).
The combination of the mint julep with the beignets will satisfy any dessert craving. The courtyard that it is located in is shaded and it’s a nice place to sit and relax with a sweet snack.
Recommendation:
Yes, for a quick sweet snack.

I thought the Mint Julep was nothing more than glorified lime-aid. Certainly not worth the money!
