Freshii is a chain of healthy fast food restaurants that has locations across Canada and in other countries. They offer made to order salads, burritos and rice bowls with an emphasis on healthy fresh ingredients.
The inside of the store is bright and modern, but the ordering layout is a bit confusing. You grab a clip board and write down your order and then order at one station, pay at another, and then finally pick it up when it’s ready.
I went with the Asian chop salad ($9), which is a chef creation, instead of making my own salad. This came on a bed of spinach and romaine topped with roasted chicken, edamame, carrots, mandarin oranges, crispy wonton strips, with a sesame dressing.
The greens were fresh tasting and I liked how they mixed two different types. The roasted chicken was moist and the crispy wonton strips added a nice crunchy texture. The sesame dressing was tart and flavourful, without being too overwhelming. There was a decent amount of toppings and the salad itself was quite large.
I was impressed with the salad from Freshii. The price is reasonable considering salads in restaurants can cost around $15 and they taste about the same. This is a good place to come to get something healthy for lunch.
Recommendation:
Yes, for affordable and tasty salads.
